This solar cover works really well, so keep your chlorine and algaecide levels up or the algae will grow from the warmth of the solar cover.I forgot to have my husband add chemicals while I was on vacation and left the solar cover on, so when I came back, I had lots of algae toget rid of. Finally got it cleaned up and now using the solar cover again. I also bought the reel to roll it up with. What a lifesaver.I’ve bought all levels of these solar covers—from thick to thin, blue to clear. With the exception of commercial pool grade, they all last the same amount of time. Great solar cover for the cost. I recommend.So far has held up well, but will likely only last the 2 years I have gotten for most of the 12 mil covers I have had before. lighter weights last even less time.The covers do hold pool heat over night ( I keep my pool at 89 degrees in the winter months in PHX) and help limit evaporation in the summer.I bought this cover for my 40 x 20 pool because during the summer months, my pool water level would significantly drop. It gets so bad that during the summer months I would have to fill up my pool once a week for 2 hours using my garden hose! I’ve had this cover for 2 weeks and my pools water level has not changed!! The water temp is also warm as well! I would highly recommend!WOW! I can't speak to the durability yet but this company delivered the product a full 3 days BEFORE their EARLIEST promised date. If the rest of their support goes this way we are in for a long relationship. The Tarp is darker than others I have seen (I got the 1600) and feels thick to my amateur touch.I'm positive the heat will get retained in my pool and even before I got it on Grasshoppers were trying to get out of the grass where I was unrolling it from the immediate heat.This cover feels much stronger than the Intex cover I bought last year. That cover started disintegrating this year. So I bought this better one. It's noticably thicker, so I bet it will hold up to the sun much better! Also it definitely traps heat better also, so I'd imagine it's better for evaporation, haven't measured how much yet. I cut this to fit an in ground square concrete pool. Using an Intex cover roller. Working great!This is a great durable cover that won't blow around in the wind. The only drawback is that it is heavy. Even more so when you pull it out of the pool.Warmed up my pool faster and kept it warmer longer compared to any other solar cover I've had before.
